Camille Cain was first elected to the Weber County Commission in 1998, then re-elected in 2002. Since entering office, Camille has enjoyed public service with a clear and sincere commitment to the people whom she serves. During her tenure as a County Commissioner, Camille has continuously demonstrated her vision of public/private participation to provide the foundation for a strong community. Camille believes that government functions best when there is active participation and strong coalitions between individuals, private business and government. Toward that end, she has initiated and advocated partnerships between community, business and local government to more effectively meet the needs of the people of Weber County.
Commissioner Cain grew up in Alabama where she received her nursing education from the Birmingham Baptist Hospitals School of Nursing, and her certification as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner (PNP) from the University of Alabama in Birmingham. She practiced as a PNP in Alabama, Ohio, Germany, and Canada. She then settled in Kansas City, Missouri where her husband, Steve, began his profession as a Cardiovascular Surgeon and Camille began a second career in real estate.
Camille’s commitment to Utah and her home of Weber County began when the Cains and their four children moved to Utah in 1982. After getting settled in Ogden, Camille started her own business, Dominion Resources, Inc., a real estate development and investment company. Believing that her background in both medicine and private business helped to prepare her for public service, Camille is quick to say that she is honored by the privilege of serving the people as a County Commissioner. Camille is an avid skier and also enjoys gardening, reading, singing and playing piano.
