WEBER COUNTY SURVEYOR'S OFFICE COR's STATION:

The Weber County Surveyor's Office has purchased equipment for a permanent GPS broadcast station.  We have secured a site which will be usable both in the Upper Valley and Lower Valley depending on radio communication limitations.  Subject to the availability of continuous power supply, the data stream will be collected and broadcast on a 24 hour, 7 days per week basis.  The data is automatically downloaded to the internet for the public to access from the NGS web site.  The location of this Cor's Station has been constructed near the upper gondola lift house for the Snow Basin Strawberry Bowl ski lift.

The internet data will be available for those who are doing Static Post Processing.  This site conforms to Government requirements as a COR's station.  Also, it is set up so that it is continuously broadcasting RTK correction station. For information on the signal you can REGISTER on this site to recieve the necessary data to access the signal.

The range from the site that the correction signal will be usable will depend on the specifications of the equipment you use and that of the broadcast system, however, with Leica 500 System (survey grade) utilizing Pacific Crest radio equipment distances of up to a 30 Km radius from the station location should be able to be surveyed in, this is according to current information from Leica.

HUNTSVILLE MONUMENTS:

The town of Huntsville has entered into an interlocal agreement with this department to remonument a select number of street intersections for the town.  Only a limited budget was available for this project, however, during the progress of the project we have located and remonumented  21 Original Sandstone Monuments for the town streets.  The main highway (100 North/South Street, old 1st street) has not been included in this project, nor have any of the streets north of old first street.  The pavement construction of the highway, ie, concrete under asphalt, will prevent us from searching for the street monuments at this time and stay with in a reasonable project cost as was originally established with the town.

At present the project scope is approximately 90 percent complete.  Street Monuments under ring and lid have been established directly over the original found sandstones.  We are in the process of collecting GPS position data on the monuments for establishing State Plane Coordinates on the points.  When totally done we will be filing a record of survey map on the project which will be available from this office, preliminary coordinate data is currently available to those who ask.

PLAIN CITY MONUMENTS:

The City of Plain City has entered into an interlocal agreement with this department to remonument a select number of street intersections for the city.  Only a limited budget is available for this project and we are in the beginning stages of the office evaluation of the survey and record data.  This project has proved to be much more difficult than the Huntsville project had turned out to be, and will take longer to complete.  We have no anticipated date of completion at this time but as with Huntsville when it is completed a record of survey map will also be filed in this office.

At present the research of this project is approximately 20 percent complete.

PINEVIEW LAKE BOUNDARY:

This office has entered into an inter-local agreement with the USFS to survey and monument the federal property boundary around Pineview Lake. This work is in progress and several areas have been worked on and monumented. As a note to surveyor's, when working around the lake please contact this office for information on where we are currently working and for the status of other area's of the lake boundary. As always, completed areas are on file with this office and available from the Interactive Map.

HOOPER MONUMENTS:

There are a number of Street Monuments which have been installed in many of the intersections of the Hooper Area. This was done prior to Hooper becoming an Incorporated City.  The intersection monuments set in this project DO NOT necessarily represent a legal center of the street, but they DO represent a center line of the street for any future development projects which may require street dedication.  These monuments could be used to determine what, if any, dedication  a developer may need to do to comply with required right-of-way widths.  The required widths should be available from the local planning office.

Some of these monuments have had static GPS data collected on them, however, the post processing of that data was not completed at the time the community incorporated and at this point it is still pending.  Since the area was incorporated completing the coordinate values on these monuments has became a low priority for this office. The area is no longer within County jurisdiction.  We will notify you when this has been done via this web page and include the monument data on the Interactive Map.

Also, the old town of Hooper has been resurveyed and remonumented in 1995.  Street Monuments were set to control the original Lot and Block system of Hooper's Plat A.  There is a record of survey filing #1833 available in this office which gives survey data that can be utilized by the profession.

MONTE CRISTO RE-TRACEMENT:

This project was started several summers ago, and we have been working on re-locating the original section monuments in Township 8 North, Range 3 East. The monuments which have been located in this township so far are available on the Interactive Map. This project is being worked on as time permits.

SECTION CORNER RE-TRACEMENT:

We are currently working in two other areas of the county as time permits. They are in Township 5 & 6 North, Range 2 & 3 East and as with other monument information, when it is ready for publication the data is available on the Interactive Map.
