Booking Process

After the booking process has been completed, the booking staff will inform the arrestee what he or she has been charged with and the amount of bail required to be released. This amount may be listed as either cash only or bondable. Any holds will also be disclosed. The arrestee will have an opportunity to make a collect phone call to try to make bail. A complete list of licensed bonding companies is available by each phone.

R&O (Reception & Orientation) and Classification

Inmates are housed in the R&O section until they are classified. Collect phone calls may be made in this area, but no visiting or commissary purchases are allowed. A Classification Corrections Officer will interview the inmate to determine the best housing situation for the inmate. This can take up to 72 hours. The assessment will include information concerning the inmate's behavior, charges, and history. A six-tier system is used, with Level 1 being the most restrictive.

Court Appearance

Inmates will be scheduled for arraignment on the next court day.

O.R. (Own Recognizance)

Some arrestees may qualify for release without posting bail through a court-approved pre-trial release program, also know as O.R. To be released on one's own O.R., certain criteria are used, including address, employment, and other ties to the community that the interviewer can verify through a relative or friend.

Release from Jail

If bail is posted for an inmate/arrestee, he or she will be released as soon as possible. Inmates released by the Court will be released beginning at approximately 5 p.m. Inmates who have completed a sentence will be released beginning at approximately 9 a.m. on the date the time is served.
